In The Mood: The 56th annual St. Thomas More Dinner Dance invitation.
Not sure of the dates, but the picture is of my glasses from the opening night of the Hotel Syracuse Library. Us MONY folks would stop over after work to unwind, maybe read a book or, more likely, Disco the night away. Great memories were made during these times.

This is a clothes hanger from the Hotel Syracuse Valet Service, probably circa 1950-53. One probably doesn’t find varnished wooden hangers much anymore in a world dominated by plastics.
My dad’s half brother and his wife played in a band called Kings Melodians. They preformed at the Hotel Syracuse on Fridays. I believe it must be around late 30’s early 40’s.

Syracuse News Anchor Ron Curtis and wife Joan dancing at their wedding reception at the Persian Terrace on December 27, 1959.
Longtime news anchor for WHEN and WTVH and his wife Joan sharing a dance at their wedding reception at the Persian Terrace at the Hotel Syracuse on December 27, 1959. Joan grew up dining at The Hotel with her parents every Sunday afternoon. Ron and Joan shared many memories at The Rainbow Lounge and other restaurants in The Hotel over the years and Ron hosted “Fashions At Luncheon” as well as big band nights that were often featured on CBS Radio. While Ron passed in 2001, Joan is planning on visiting the new Hotel and reminiscing about the old days while making new memories. Thank you for bringing back an old friend.
