More than a million visitors come to the New York State Fair Grounds every year for the New York State Fair. Yet the 375-acre fairgrounds plays host to more events than just the oldest state fair in the country! Annually, the fairgrounds serve as a showcase for the local community with over 500 non-fair events to be experienced and enjoyed. We bet that even some local residents are unaware of all the things to do in Syracuse at the New York State fairgrounds. So, let’s look at a year in the life…
Music, Festivals and Brewfests
After Kool & the Gang brought the “Celebration” known as the 2017 New York State Fair to a close, the ships sailed in for the Central NY Boat Show. Soon after, the cavalry arrived in the form of the Empire State Quarter Horse Association Fall Show. And what fall season would be complete without some tricks and treats in the form of Fright Nights at The Fair! As fall turned to winter, the fun still rolled along with Holiday Shoppes and the Syracuse Wine and Chocolate Festival! The weather was still frightful, but the 2018 CNY Brewfest was quite delightful. And spring brought the festivals celebrating BBQ, while the Chinese Lanterns lit the way to summer… and the anticipation for the big event: the New York State Fair!
